England vs Germany report.

Well i was just watching the match while i thought i could do a report of it and put it on the blog for you to read, if you didnt watch it last night, or if you just want to know some information about the match, you should read on.

Well it started good for the first 5, 10 or 15 minutes until Germany player Klose scored a goal stood right in the middle. Unfortunately after that came another goal by Lukas Padolski right from the side into the nets. Bad for England, but wow for Germany. Then… England switched on and amazingly Upson scored a goal for England, the crowd stood on their feet. Suddenly after that Frank Lampard took a astonishing kick and it wosshed past the goal keeper and it hit the top post and it past the line but badly it didnt count as a goal, i dont know why?? Anyway after that Friedrich got a yellow card. After Milner was sent off and J. Cole came on. Another goal came along for Germany when Muller scored a goal for them, and again Klose scored the 4th goal for Germany. Wow now England really need to switch on or their out of the world cup. Then Defoe went off and Heskey came on, meanwhile Muller went off and Trochowski came on. After that the player that scored 2 goals (klose) went off and Gomez came on. Furthermore Glen Johnson got a yellow card and then the situation for England was worse then ever. It was end of the match and they are so out. The scored are 4 to Germnay and 1 to England. Pretty bad scores to me, but Germany are still through. Yes, end of the match thankyou for reading my report of the England vs Germany match and i hope you liked it alot.

The Football.

The football is no ordinary ball,  its what we play for, what we live for, no-one can take its place. It rolls onto your foot and makes you feel the power, the energy and the freedom. The football struggles to get to the net but all the difficulty passes through your mind and reappears at the target. The ball is kicked and gently  placed in the net. All is cheering , and Germany should win! Never lose hope, just have a go , So come on Germany!!!

FIFA area challenge

This will be  one of our investigations this week leading onto different areas of pitches too.

This resource was take from Primaryresources but the last two slides modified to suite the FIFA theme!

Journalistic Writing this week

We have already looked in detail about what thoughts and feelings players experience whilst in the tunnel waiting to come out onto the pitch and also when they get out onto the pitch.

This week we will be looking at newspaper reports. We will look in detail at these links:

Telegraph

Mirror

Can we write like that? This week we will have a go and hopefully get to use the Newspaper frames on Purplemash too! If you want to do REALLY well this week, read some newspaper report about the world cup games. This will help you understand the style of writing.

If we get time, we may get chance to compare what the UK newspapers say to what the German newspapers say by looking at this report by ‘Bild’ (A very popular German newspaper)

Bild

We will obviously keep the world up to day with our learning. Each day we will produce a post that shows the planning stages we have gone through and the results will be posted later in the week! I’m really looking forward to our lessons this week!

My facts I found about Germany.

I und out that in Germany there is a river called the river Rhine and that is 865 km long ( WOW ). I also found out that the Beatles played in a German City  before they came well known. Furthermore i also found out In Germany Christmas trees are decorated by parents and aren’t seen by children until Christmas Eve, when they are allowed to enter the Christmas room.

Immediate reaction to Germany’s defeat to Serbia!

We only had 15 minutes to complete this! Click play to hear some of Year 5′s immediate thoughts on Germany losing to Serbia this afternoon.

Homework task

For your homework, you are going to make an electronic version of your player profile card using ‘Purplemash’. You’ll need to log into the school portal: www.heathfielcps.com and scroll down to ‘learning links’, select 2Simple and then click on ’2Publish Projects’ at the top of the screen, then scroll down and click on ‘footy profile’. You’ll then have a frame to fill out. Have a play with the boxes and the words you can click on to add to your player profile.

Good luck and remember to ‘save’ your work!

Quote of the week

Talk about enthusiasm…

The first words that a child said to me this morning was this sentence by Matthew in Year 5.

“Hey…Mr. Mitchell, we won! 4:0 to us, did you see it?”

No mention of the England game, just infectious enthusiasm about our project! What a way to start the week!
